Why FLO Forum Exists
The FLO Forum was established in June 2005 to gather wireless industry leaders involved in developing FLO-based networks, products and services to create a framework that enables operators, content providers, and vendors involved to:

  • Drive the standardization of FLO technology resulting in the highest level of cost effectiveness
  • Support efforts for acquisition and clearing of spectrum globally to support FLO deployments
  • Promote the development and certification of FLO products and services resulting in the delivery of advanced multimedia services to wireless devices around the world using FLO technology
FLO Forum Objectives
The objectives of the FLO Forum focus on making FLO technology a global standard: from setting guidelines for testing and certification of equipment using FLO technology, to serving as a resource for information about FLO technology and FLO-compliant products. Additional objectives of the Forum include the following:

  • Provide a venue for future developments to occur in concert with committed partners.
  • Focus and accelerate efforts to make FLO technology a standard to increase market acceptance, remove regulatory hurdles, and promote industry buy-in resulting in reduced overall implementation costs.
  • Act as a resource for information about FLO technology and FLO-compliant products.
  • Set guidelines for the test and certification of equipment using FLO technology.
  • Provide a cross-functional group to assist in the rapid adoption and acceptance of FLO technology across all parties involved in the delivery of FLO services.
  • Promote new services associated with FLO technology.
  • Provide Marketing and PR support for FLO technology.
  • Provide a forum for technical specifications and business information exchange about the FLO technology family.
